All good things have rules.

Cooking is not just boiling food. Hit the keyboard won’t necessarily make you a piano player. We get it, the research of visual harmony comes loaded with principles, rules, methods, these being more or less strict and evolving. It seems to me that the language of shapes and colors is less know from mainstream audiences than musical structures, and that is a shame. Culture Peinture fills this void and painting suddenly has another taste. Impossible not to recommend this course to anyone who enjoy good things. Usually, they know how to appreciate the efforts needed to age a great wine, compose a symphony, and paint a masterpiece.

After 5 years studying Art History (Master, Sorbonne University, Paris), I still haven’t found a better course than Gilbert Wolfisberg’s Culture peinture.

While gradually accessing essential knowledge of Art History and the basis for drawing and painting. Composition is one of the main focus of learning with Culture Peinture. The course brightens our perception and opens fascinating new horizons. Gilbert Wolfisberg’s classes have brought me amazing resources which still nourishes my practice today.

Thank you Gilbert for your vision of art and your sharing it.

I have always been passionate about painting.

I used to not understand why specific artworks could overwhelm me and others didn’t. I thought it was mostly due to the painter’s drawing technique, his choice of colors, the perspective of some paintings.

With Culture Peinture, I discovered a visual world based on specific principles, created and improved over the years by ancient masters and modern artists. Precise construction rules that can be applied to any visual language, even abstract ones, and reinforce a painting’s interest and success. When these principles are used correctly, they can make a painting intriguing, fascinating, moving.

I practiced by myself for a long time, and then with various teachers to improve my drawing technique, representation of faces, still lives. My work improved but something essential was still missing and I was frustrated.

Culture Peinture taught me that an image is a whole and every line answers to the next line, guiding the eye across the painting in a very precise way chosen by the painter. And as a viewer we follow that language without realizing it. It’s fascinating.

It is a dense and complex journey, but with each steps, we free our blind eye and begin to see.

These techniques forgotten by most art school programs, should really be taught. We would then see so many masterpieces!

Thank you for opening my eyes!

When I discovered Culture Peinture, everything changed!

For 2, 3 years, I was painting my own way, growing increasingly dissatisfied with my work, and then I discovered Culture Peinture and everything changed! The hours of classes, the silence, the focus, the beautiful background music, bringing all my senses in to the world of painting.

Here I’m learning:

  • what painting really is. I understand why a work is beautiful, why it was created that way at its time. Painting exhibitions take on another meaning.

  • and I understand how to use this knowledge. Lines come together because of these tools as I master composition and learn how not to loose myself with all the colors.

  • how to translate a vision in my head into an actual project. And if I loose myself, Gilbert Wolfisberg will bring me right back on track.

Rare, exceptionally rare are platforms where ancient secrets of painting and composition are being taught!

Artistic expression has literally exploded over the past decades, taking varied and sometimes incomprehensible forms. And few people can still share the keys to harmony, shapes interplays and dynamism, cohesiveness of colors, all allowing for a balanced composition of space.

This incredible platform exists online with Culture Peinture. With this course, I’ve discovered a whole new world, infinite possibilities and a new part of myself.

We are all able to create wonder and express our own sensitivity. With Culture Peinture and Gilbert Wolfisberg, we have sharp masters helping us to reveal ourselves.

Artistic science and amazing discovery!

At first, I was a little surprised that successful paintings were not the result of a stroke of genius but because the artist knew how to work with a precise and rich language when composing his work.

And what a language! Shapes, equivalences, making a painting dance thanks to their character and activity, driving our gaze and making our head swirl.

This is actually the result of a precise and rigorous approach which seduced my scientific mind. Since then, painting in museums have started to reveal their secrets to my dazzled eyes.

Classes are balanced, with individual creativity and relevant theory, and a thorough practical component.

Thank you for this experience!
